Over the past week or so, I’ve been working on learning how to use Git for managing my software development. One of my goals is to use Git to manage a development version of my site on my local computer so I can test large changes before I make them live (more information on doing this will be available at some point). Right now I’m still learning about it, but I did find this neat little quote on the Wikipedia page:
Torvalds has quipped about the name git, which is British English slang roughly equivalent to “unpleasant person”. Torvalds said: “I’m an egotistical bastard, and I name all my projects after myself. First ‘Linux’, now ‘git’.”
