From the Analects

The Analects are the central texts of Confucianism. While I generally avoid philosophy, there are a few lines I like:

The Master said: “Do not worry if you are without a position; worry lest you do not deserve a position. Do not worry if you are not famous; worry lest you do not deserve to be famous.”

The Analects 4.14

And I can even use it to prove my philosophy of avoiding philosophy: Confucius is telling his students not to worry about their position or even why they are in that position, but that they should focus on being the best they can be. In some ways, he is telling them not to worry about philosophy!

And that is why I avoid philosophy.
